Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Dune Developments when you use Workly. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Last updated: 9 September 2026 Applies to: Workly & dunedevs.com

Workly is not publicly released yet. It is in development, accounts are not open to the public, and no plan can currently be purchased. These terms describe the agreement that will apply, and are published in advance so nothing about it is a surprise.

1. This agreement

These terms are between you and Dune Developments, a software company based in Egypt ("we", "us"). They apply when you create a Workly account, use the Workly application, or use dunedevs.com.

If you do not agree with them, do not use Workly. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to agree to these terms.

2. What Workly is

Workly is a desktop application that runs on your own computer, currently for Windows. It brings together notes, projects, uploads, transcription, a calendar, reminders, timetables, tasks, an optional mail inbox, past-paper practice, and — for schools, tutors and companies — class, roster and messaging tools.

It is not a hosted web service where your work lives on our servers. Your material is stored on your own machine. This matters for backups (section 10) and is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

Some features described on this website are not built yet, and are labelled as such where we describe them. We do not promise a date for any unreleased feature, and plans may change.

3. Your account

4. Plans and payment

Workly's personal plans are:

PlanPriceWhat it includes
BachelorsFreeThe core application, mail, timetable, calendar, reminders and sticky notes. No AI features.
MastersEGP 299 / monthEverything in Bachelors, plus the AI question bar and AI quick actions.
PhDEGP 399 / monthEverything in Masters, plus the remaining AI features.

Prices are in Egyptian pounds and include VAT where it applies. Plans for tutors, schools and companies are not priced yet; when they are, they will be published here before they can be bought.

Free trial

Every account may take one free trial, once. You choose whether to sample Masters or PhD, and it runs for three days, after which it ends and the account continues on Bachelors. It is one trial per account, not one per tier.

Billing

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, which runs to its end.

We may change prices. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.

Payment is handled by a third-party payment provider, not by us directly. We do not receive or store your card details.

5. Refunds and cancellation

We do not offer refunds by default. There is no self-serve refund button and no automatic approval.

If you want a refund, email help@dunedevs.com and say why. A person reads every request and decides case by case. We would rather look at a real situation properly than apply a blanket rule badly.

This does not affect any refund right you have under the consumer law where you live, which stands regardless of what this section says.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not automatically refund charges already made.

6. Your content

Your work is yours. Notes you write, documents you upload, recordings you transcribe, and answers you produce belong to you. We claim no ownership of any of it.

Because Workly stores your content on your own machine rather than on our servers, we are not in a position to use it, publish it, or share it — we do not hold it. You do not grant us a licence to your content by using Workly.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not put material into Workly that you are not allowed to use.

7. Past-paper practice material

Workly includes a practice feature that draws on past examination papers and their mark schemes, obtained from publicly accessible sources, so you can sit practice questions and have multiple-choice answers marked.

We may change, restrict or withdraw this feature, including for legal reasons.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Workly to:

Inside a school or company, messages are checked against a term list as they are sent and may be flagged for that organisation's administrators to review. This is described in the Privacy Policy.

Academic honesty

Where Workly's AI features exist, they are meant to help you learn and to give feedback on your own work. Whether using them on a particular assignment is allowed is set by your school, teacher or institution — not by us. Follow their rules.

9. Schools and companies

If an organisation gives you a Workly account, the organisation's administrator manages the register of members, the classes, projects and teams, and who can reach whom. That organisation is responsible for how it uses Workly and for the decisions its administrators make.

An administrator can remove you from the organisation, which removes your access to what the organisation shared with you. Your own notes and uploads were never the organisation's to take, and remain yours.

Where an organisation is paying, the account holder is the customer for billing purposes, and is responsible for the seats on that account.

10. Availability and backups

Back up your own work. Workly stores your content on your machine and we do not hold a copy, so if your computer fails or its data is deleted, we cannot restore it for you.

Workly is software in active development. It may contain defects, and features may change, be delayed, or be withdrawn. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of any part of it, including the parts that depend on outside services such as sign-in or a connected mailbox.

11. Warranties and liability

Workly is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we exclude implied warranties.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data — see section 10 on backups. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you are on a free plan, to nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Workly and close your account at any time by emailing help@dunedevs.com.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — particularly section 8 — or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of a paid period.

Your content stays where it has always been: on your own machine. Closing an account does not delete it from your computer, and we cannot delete it for you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

14. Changes and contact

We will update these terms as Workly develops, particularly as unreleased features ship and as plans for tutors, schools and companies are priced. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and tell account holders.
